Titanic 1997 film, directed by James Cameron, is one of the most successful and iconic films in cinematic history.

Titanic Disaster
Titanic Disaster, was one of the worst maritime disasters in history.
The British luxury liner Titanic (46,000 gross tonnes) of the White Star Line, on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York, struck an iceberg about 153 km (95 mi) south of the Grand Banks off Newfoundland Island just before midnight on April 14, 1912. Of more than 2,220 people aboard, about 1,513 died, including the American millionaires John Jacob Astor, Benjamin Guggenheim, and Isidor Straus.
Earlier, the British businessman and the chairman of the shipping line White Star, J. Bruce Ismay decided to build ships that could compete with his rival line Cunard, which was looking forward to debuting two of its ships, Lusitania and Mauretania, in 1907, to increase its market share.
He met with Willian Pirrie, the controller of the Belfast shipbuilding firm Harland and Wolff, a British shipbuilding and fabrication company. they decided that three vessels, the Olympic, the Titanic, and the Britannic, would be built. and on March 31, 1909, the construction of the ships started, side-by-side. The system led many to claim that the Titanic was unsinkable, nicknamed as ‘Millionaire’s Special”.
On April 10, 1912, the Titanic made its first voyage from Southampton, England, to New York City. captained by Edward J. Smith in the Atlantic Ocean.
As the name suggests, gigantic or enormous, and because of its 16 watertight compartments the Titanic had been declared beyond sinking. Even though it had been considered that an iceberg could puncture only four of the watertight compartments, in reality, it lost five of five of them which caused the Titanic to sink in less than three hours.
Later through investigations, it was found that the ship had been steaming too fast in the unsafe waters. the reasons so many people had to sacrifice their lives were that available lifeboat space was enough only for only about half of the passengers and crew and that the people close to the disaster, the Californian, were unable to come to rescue because its radio operator was off duty and asleep, and it was speeding too much.
These revelations led to many reforms in the shipping industry that made the lifeboat space for every person on a ship, lifeboat drills, the maintenance of a full-time radio watch while at sea, and an international ice patrol mandatory.
The sinking of the Titanic has been the subject of several books and films, most recently the Hollywood blockbuster, Titanic (1998). It was not until September 1985 that the wreck was found and the area photographed.
This was done by a joint French-United States expedition, through the use of robot submersibles equipped with television cameras. In July 1986, US researchers explored the Titanic in the three-person Alvin submersible when they pictured the interior but recovered no artefacts.
The following year a controversial French salvage effort retrieved dishes, jewels, currency, and other artefacts, which were exhibited in Paris in September 1987 and in Hamburg in 1997. In August 1998 a substantial section of the ship’s outer hull was recovered from the sea floor. Surveying and investigation of the wreck continue.
In May 1912, led by Sir John Charles Bigham, the British investigation began. in their 28-day-long testimony, the final report states that “the loss of the said ship was due to collision with an iceberg, brought about by the excessive speed at which the ship was being navigated.” However, Mersey also stated that he was “not able to blame Captain Smith…he was doing only that which other skilled men would have done in the same position.”
Storyline

As the ship continues on its journey, Rose and Jack’s love story blossoms, while Cal and Ruth’s disapproval of Jack becomes more apparent.
